Dead men walking

 By Sami Zaatari

Christians often like to boast that a lot of historic facts can be found in the NT therefore making the NT authentic. They also like to argue the Quran contradicts historic facts and makes up silly things.

Therefore in light of this, I will quote a passage from the Bible, the NT specifically, and I would love Christians to respond to this verse in light of history. Also I would like the Christian to ask themselves, if they consider this silly.

Here is the passage, however so, before I quote this verse, I want people to know I am NOT making this verse up, so just had to clear that.

Matthew 27: 50-53:

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. 51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; 52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, 53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many

So note, we have graves being opened up, and the dead people raising from the dead and then walking through Jerusalem! So dead people walking around Jerusalem!!!!!!! It might just be me, but I have never ever read this in any historic book, nor has anyone brought this up at school. The only time I heard this story was from the Bible, even Christians never told me this, I guess they were too embarrassed by this embarrassing story found in the Gospel of Matthew and not in the other 3 eye-witness Gospels.

So my Christian friends, is this statement historically accurate? Also would you say this story isn’t silly?
